The 11th Royan International E-Summer School on Interdisciplinary Approaches in Diabetes Research

The 11th Royan International Summer School on Interdisciplinary Approaches in Diabetes Research was held virtually on December 16th to 18th, 2020 at Royan Institute.
More than 200 undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students got the chance to taste different aspects of the rapidly growing, multidisciplinary field of Interdisciplinary Approaches in Diabetes Research in order to gain invaluable insights towards finding their area of interest for their future research in the field.


The E- Summer School was deliberately designed to cover a broad range of topics as follow:
•  Novel cell-based therapies for diabetes
•  Bioengineering of pancreatic
•  Islet transplantation
•  Genomics in diabetes
•  Genetic models for diabetes
•  Stem cells-derived beta cells
•  Diabetes and Covid 19
 
Thanks to Prof. Anne Grapin-Botton from Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Prof. Pedro Herrera from University of Geneva Medical Center, Prof. Francis C. Lynn from University of British Columbia, Dr. Hamid Reza Aghayan from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Mohammad Y. Vahidi from Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, as distinguished invited speakers, this program was organized by Dr Y Tahamtani as scientific Manager and R Moghimi-Nasr as the executive secretary and their colleagues in Royan Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Technology.
