Dr. Massoud Vosough Recognized as Iran’s Top Researcher in Medical Sciences for 2025
Dr. Massoud Vosough, a faculty member of the Royan Institute and Head of its Regenerative Medicine Research Group, has been selected by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as Iran’s Top Researcher in the field of Medical Sciences for the year 2025.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Royan Institute, Dr. Vosough was honored at the 26th National Festival Honoring Outstanding Researchers, Technologists, and Innovators, held concurrently with National Research Week, where he was recognized among 53 distinguished researchers, technologists, and entrepreneurs nationwide. This national festival is organized to acknowledge the pivotal role of research and the contributions of academic faculty members to the advancement of science and technology.
The award ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 9:00 to 12:00 at the Aburayhan Hall of the International Conference Center of Shahid Beheshti University, in the presence of the Minister and a number of prominent academic figures.
Dr. Vosough’s selection as the country’s top researcher was based on five key criteria defined by the Ministry of Science, including significant contributions to knowledge production, effective engagement with industry and society, active participation in international scientific forums, the development of high-impact scholarly works and registered patents, as well as discovery and innovation. Through his distinguished research activities in the fields of stem cells and regenerative medicine, he has made a substantial contribution to advancing the frontiers of knowledge and scientific development in the country.
This achievement highlights the distinguished position of the Royan Institute in scientific and technological research and reflects the effective role of its faculty members in advancing national science and technology.
