President Issues the Resolution on the Establishment of ACECR's National Primate Laboratory (PRIMA)
The President has issued the resolution on the establishment of the National Primate Laboratory (PRIMA) of the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR). Coinciding with the 46th anniversary of the establishment of ACECR, the resolution provides a key platform for advancing cutting-edge research in neuroscience, brain-inspired artificial intelligence, and the treatment of neurological disorders. The scientific and research center, which will operate under the supervision of Royan Institute of ACECR, is being established in line with the implementation of the Comprehensive Scientific Map of the Country.According to the Public Relations Office of Royan Institute, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution (SCCR), issued the Single-Article Resolution on the Establishment of the National Primate Laboratory (PRIMA), which had been approved at the 921st meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, on the eve of 16 Mordad, marking the 46th anniversary of the establishment of ACECR.
Accordingly, the National Primate Laboratory will be established under the supervision of Royan Institute as a scientific and research center affiliated with ACECR.

Single Article - Pursuant to National Action 14 under Macro Strategy 7 of the Comprehensive Scientific Map of the Country, concerning the establishment and development of national laboratories and specialized service centers in priority fields; National Actions 4, 9, 10, and 11 of the National Stem Cell Science and Technology Document; and National Actions 3 and 5 of the Strategic Document on Cognitive Science and Technologies, and considering the necessity of addressing some of the most fundamental, up-to-date, and essential needs of society, as well as the remarkable and rapid international advances in neuroscience, brain-inspired artificial intelligence, prosthetics and brain-controlled robotic systems, the development of novel therapeutic tools for neurological disorders, and other emerging multidisciplinary needs, the National Primate Laboratory, hereinafter referred to as "PRIMA," shall be established under the supervision of Royan Institute as a scientific and research center affiliated with the Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research (ACECR).
Note 1 - The Statute of the National Primate Laboratory shall be approved and promulgated by the Board of Trustees of ACECR.
Note 2 - For the purpose of strategic management and supervision over the effective implementation of the Laboratory's assigned missions, a Steering Council of the National Primate Laboratory shall be established. The Council shall consist of representatives from the relevant organizations, including the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Medical Sciences, and the relevant officials of ACECR. The members representing ACECR shall be appointed by the President of ACECR and approved by the Board of Trustees of ACECR.
