Approval of Statutes of Dr. Kazemi Prize

According to the public relations report of Royan Institute, quoting from the presidential information base, the statutes of Dr. Kazemi's Prize were approved, in the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, which was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran, on August 15.
Kazemi Prize is a major scientific award that is awarded annually in the field of Biology in cooperation with the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology to a selected scientist at the Royan Festival. This Prize was formed after the death of Dr. Saeid Kazemi Ashtiani, the founder of the Royan Institute, in order to honor his efforts and keep his memories alive among national and international scientists and at the suggestion of the supreme leader of the revolution and to be awarded annually to a scientist who has made significant progress in the field of biological sciences.
Kazemi's Prize is intended to honor the unceasing efforts of a scientist who has dedicated his life to Creating Transformation and progress in the quality of human life and reducing pain. 

The first prize was awarded to Professor Rudolph Janish from America, one of the most creative scientists in the field of Developmental Biology, Gene Regulation, Stem Cell Biology, and Stem Cell Therapy in 2010.
The second prize was awarded to Professor Hans Schuller from Germany, a famous researcher who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of Stem Cell Biology over many years, in 2011.
In 2015 the prize was awarded to Professor Hans Kloer from the Netherlands, who is a geneticist, doctor, researcher, and professor of molecular genetics. He was the first scientist to identify intestinal stem cells and is considered one of the world's leading researchers in the field of Natural Stem Cells and their potential for Regenerative Therapy.
The fourth prize was awarded to Professor Hans Kloers from the Netherlands, who is a Geneticist, Doctor, Researcher, and Professor of Molecular Genetics in 2016. He was the first scientist to identify Intestinal Stem Cells and is considered one of the world's leading researchers in the field of Natural Stem Cells and their potential for regenerative therapy.

In 2018 the prize was awarded to Professor Michael DeLuca from Italy for his research in the field of Cell Therapy and combined Gene Therapy for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Disease.
